Proposal for the Ba Phalaborwa Sports Stadium.
The Zonkeziswe Sports Stadium houses various sport facilities and was designed to accommodate 10 000 spectators. The roof of this community sports building was engineered to be retractable and the cables that controlled this mechanism added to the architectural concept of the structure.
This sports node is equipped with a soccer field and an Olympic size swimming pool. It also caters for basketball, badminton, boxing, wrestling, indoor action cricket, action netball and all field and track athletics. Central to all the sports facilities are a food court or restaurant core that connects the spectators to the multiple activities.
